Our treatments are time efficient and efective: We use a combination of pulsed light (laser), a whitening formula, and a whitening accelerator to quickly and safely remove years of dental staining. More specifically, system consists of a special pulsed light LED that is calibrated to the perfect wavelength. The blue light LED works in conjunction with our special mouthpiece and our whitening activator. The mouthpiece is inserted into the mouth and the blue light LED is positioned within two inches of the mouthpiece. 20 minutes later the result is a bright white smile several shades lighter than before. How Teeth Whitening Works:
Each of your teeth is made up of an inner dentin layer and a hard outer enamel layer, which protects the teeth. When you put stuff in your mouth- food, cigarette smoke, coffee, etc.- another layer, called pellicle film, gradually forms on top of the enamel layer. A dentist can clean away this film, through scraping and chemical treatments. Even brushing your teeth can knock out some of it. The abrasive toothpastes cleans the tooth in the same sort of way scrubbing with an abrasive pad cleans a dish. "Whitening" toothpastes are designed to work even harder on this layer. The problem is, as this pellicle film sits on your teeth for years, the foreign material gets into the enamel. Enamel is porous and, which means staining agents can work their way down into the tooth where you can't simply scour them away. This causes harmless, but unattractive stains. Whiteners use bleaching chemicals to get down into the tooth enamel and set off a chemical reaction that breaks apart the staining compounds.
